  41. ║ Well, whoever wrote the EMS routines in Patriot should read the very clear ║
  42. ║ the EMS specs again.  A program is not supposed to allocate more than 1-2  ║
  43. ║ EMS handles, but, alas some people don't know this.  There are two ways    ║
  44. ║ around the 128 EMS handle requirement.  First, (the best way) is to give   ║
  45. ║ it what it wants.  With QEMM you can do this by adding the statement       ║
  46. ║ HA=130 to the QEMM line in your CONFIG.SYS.  Second, you can use this      ║
  47. ║ patch.  This patch will allow you to lower the EMS handle requirement and  ║
  48. ║ also, consequently the memory requirements.  To use the patch just copy    ║
  49. ║ PATRHAND.EXE into your PATRIOT directory and run it with how many handles  ║
  50. ║ you want it to require on the command line (55-60 is a good number for     ║
  51. ║ QEMM). Note : This seems to slow the game a little if you set the number   ║
  52. ║ handles too low.                                                           ║
